Alumold ⅰ & alumold ⅱ is developed and registered by Pechiney Rhenalu( subsidiary of Alcan in France). It’s widely used for mould making. Comparing with steel, it has outstanding advantages:
1. Lightness : Low density means low inertia, allowing higher rates of acceleration and reduction in tool wear.
2. Ease of machining and dimensional stability: Machining times can be halved, giving the tool maker and injection moulder a gain in delivery time
3.Excellent thermal conductivity: Good thermal conductivity will benefit the injection moulder by gains of around 50% in cooling time.
Owing to its superior advantages, Alumold is widely used in different moulds such as injection mould, blow mould, low-pressure mould, rubber mould etc. With the fast development, Alumold has replaced steel for mould making in European and American market.
